Projects, pictures, and provisions – a visit from RPTU Kaiserslautern and TU Darmstadt

Last week, we had the pleasure of welcoming around 40 students – accompanied by Prof. Danièle Waldmann-Diederich, Prof. Christian Glock, and Prof. Wolfgang Kurz along with several research assistants.

On their group trip through north Germany, the students spent the few days earlier enjoying exciting insights into various construction sites, including the Weser crossing in Bremen, the fifth lock chamber in Brunsbüttel, and the ElbX cable tunnel near Glückstadt – three major projects in which we at WTM Engineers are significantly involved.

On Thursday, it was time to welcome them to Hamburg – and to WTM Engineers. During the group tour of HafenCity, our colleagues Fritz Hilgenstock and Nicodemus Jansson, together with Gerhard Zehetmaier, showed how diverse our projects are on site. In addition to buildings, the focus here is also on bridges, subway tunnels, and hydraulic structures – a big bundle of civil engineering in the midst of urban development.

The day ended with a barbecue on our roof terrace – with a view over the harbor as evening fell and plenty of stimulating conversations lasting until late in the summer evening. Many thanks to everyone involved for such a great event.
