Professorship for Dr. Tim Rauert

Prof. Dr.-Ing. Tim Rauert.

Dr. Tim Rauert has been appointed Professor of Structural Analysis and Engineering Mechanics at the Technical University of Applied Sciences in Lübeck. After 16 years in the industry, including posts in Aachen, Hagen and Hamburg, Tim Rauert is therefore now returning home to Lübeck. Dr. Rauert has been working at WTM Engineers as a project manager for bridge construction since 2015, during which time he has been involved in the construction of numerous large new-build bridges. These include, for example, the cable-stayed bridge crossing the South Elbe and the replacement for the Siegtal Bridge on the A 45 interstate, which reaches 100 meters in height and one kilometer in length. In addition, Dr. Rahmen has also worked intensively on aging infrastructure – for example the recalculations for the Köhlbrand Bridge or the plans for strengthening the Fehmarn Sound Bridge. This field also includes the development of a new, probabilistic verification concept for prestressed concrete bridges at risk from stress corrosion cracking.

We are delighted that Dr. Rauert is able to bring his practical experience to bear in training up-and-coming engineers. Furthermore, he will stay on at WTM Engineers as a consultant, bundling research, teaching and engineering practice more effectively for the firm.

We wish Tim Rauert all the best for his professorship and look forward to our ongoing collaboration.
