WTM is a hit with the schoolkids

Successful cooperation between universities, companies, and schools.

WTM has been supporting youngsters for years now, most recently as part of the “schoolkids’ bridge-building days”, when pupils studying physics spend time at our company learning about structural engineering as a career, and familiarizing themselves with the fundamentals of bridge building. They also get to design a bridge of their own based on the Shanghai Bridge in Hamburg. On a walking tour the schoolkids then have a chance to marvel at the bridge itself, as well as others WTM designed in the HafenCity district. For the second half of the week the youngsters relocate to HafenCity University to build models of their bridges. With the project WTM supports Initiative Naturwissenschaft und Technik, NAT for short, a non-profit company which in cooperation with universities and companies tries to instill an interest in scientific subjects among young people.
