The future of mobility – WTM Engineers represented by three projects at the ITS World Congress

Our three lighthouse projects for Germany’s smartest city, Hamburg.

This is what the new Hoheluft subway stop – one of 18 new stops on the U5 Mitte line – could look like in future.

The path to the final mile – tackling the logistical challenges of the future in big cities with the Smart City Loop.

smartBRIDGE is a pilot project for digital maintenance and monitoring of infrastructure elements using a digital twin.

What form will the mobility of tomorrow take? At the 27th ITS World Congress from October 11 to 15, 2021 in the exhibition halls, the CCH, and at numerous projects in and around Hamburg, visitors can experience the future of intelligent transport systems. Hamburg is thus presenting itself as Germany’s model city for intelligent mobility and logistics solutions.

WTM Engineers is working on no less than three lighthouse projects that are all open to viewing at the ITS: the new U5 subway line, the Smart City Loop, and smartBRIDGE Hamburg. The future U5 line is part of the focus on “Automated & Connected Driving”, while the two other projects are on show as a contribution to the focus on “Intelligent Infrastructure” at the “Gateway Hamburg” stand in Exhibition Hall 4. Smart City Loop is a high-performance logistics solution for big cities like Hamburg based on an autonomously operating tunnel for goods transportation. smartBRIDGE Hamburg, meanwhile, presents the digital twin to the Köhlbrandbrücke.
