WTM Engineers is a member of the planning team responsible for realizing and operating the National BIM Competence Center – the main public point of contact for questions relating to digitalization in construction. The Competence Center was commissioned by the Federal Ministry of Transport and Digital Infrastructure (BMVI) together with the Federal Ministry of the Interior, Building and the Community (BMI).

WTM Engineers is part of a highly-qualified consortium led by planen-bauen 4.0 GmbH. The Competence Center is intended to coordinate and support the accelerated use of BIM and digital business processes in the value- chain building in Germany. Missions of the Competence Center include developing and implementing a uniform standardization and open BIM strategy but also developing a strategy for the next steps after 2020 to follow on from the “Road Map for Digital Design and Construction”.

In implementing the BIM Road Map WTM Engineers will draw on the experiences gained from being part of the consortium BIM4Infra2020 and from its own BIM projects.
