BIM is the future

WTM involved in Federal Ministry of Transport and Digital Infrastructure research project.

The pioneering research project “Implementation of the phased BIM Plan” was launched on behalf of the Federal Ministry of Transport and Digital Infrastructure (BMVI), and WTM is involved. An interdisciplinary consortium of ten partners is advising the BMVI on the phased introduction of building information modeling, or BIM for short. As such, from 2020 on, all major federal trunk road and federal waterways projects will be planned using BIM. In particular, WTM will contribute its extensive expertise in the construction of waterways. The company will assist the Federal Waterways and Shipping Administration with the successful realization of its pilot project. The team of expert comprises top-flight science and engineering representatives: first and foremost the company Planen-Bauen 4.0, of which WTM is a co-partner. It brings together major players in the construction industry and champions the advancement and standardization of BIM throughout Germany.
