We’re celebrating an anniversary: IGU5M’s first 10 years

Last Thursday, we celebrated the tenth anniversary of the U5 Mitte engineering consortium on the good ship MS KOI in the Port of Hamburg. Joining us on board were around 200 colleagues from the three engineering firms involved Schüßler-Plan, WTM Engineers, and ISP Ziviltechniker, our long-standing planning partners, and many of the subcontractors active on the U5 project, and of course the client, HOCHBAHN U5 Projekt GmbH.

The three overall project managers, Andreas Wuttig, Rainer Mück, and Gerhard Zehetmaier, were at hand to welcome everyone and looked back on the past ten years of working together. They also took the opportunity to look ahead to the future. Above all, though, they expressed their gratitude to the many people whose dedication, expertise, and team spirit have shaped the collaboration within IGU5M from the get-go.

The evening was all about enjoying being together, and amidst the lively conversation, music, and views of the harbor, it became clear just how much collective expertise and passion has gone into Germany’s largest subway project.

IGU5M combines the expertise of all the engineering firms working on the U5. The success of the planning, however, is mainly down to the people working together day in, day out across different offices, specialist disciplines, and companies.

A huge thanks to everyone involved for ten years of trusting collaboration.

Here’s to the next milestones we’ll reach together!
