On August 19, 2018, eight cycling enthusiasts from Berlin and Hamburg with highly varying levels of preparation and equipment set out on the 108.9-km route of the Cyclassics event in Hamburg.
Led by Genia Schäferhoff, the WTM CyclING Team was able to “enjoy” the new route east of Hamburg through the Sachsenwald accompanied by an excellent atmosphere and weather. The team got off to a fast start but slowed down somewhat after reaching the refreshment stop. With the help of the cyclists in front creating a slipstream, the team crossed the finish line together on Mönckebergstrasse. As the finish line photo shows, all the team members were proud and happy with the race they had mastered together from beginning to end, and in a good time, too.
