The Team of EFFEKT, karres+brands, WTM Engineers, ARUP and Alectia convinced the jury with their design proposal of the new area of Roskilde station and was honored with the first prize. The competition comprises a master plan of the Roskilde station area including approximately 100.000 m² of living, offices, hotel and retail. To improve the local infrastructure for pedestrians and cyclists a new crossing of the railway tracks in the area of the station and a barrier free access to all platforms was required. The connection was developed as railway bridges for 7 tracks, crossed under by a lowered pedestrian and cycle passage. The construction will take place under running railway traffic and under operation of the station. WTM Engineers worked out the concept and design of the railway bridges.
