Integrated project management (IPA) as a huge opportunity for the construction industry

How can a new way of working together fundamentally change projects? This question is explored by the German Association of Consulting Engineers (VBI) in the current issue of Ingenium magazine, where Thomas Schadow shares exciting insights into the practice of integrated project management (IPA).

The example of the new construction of three schools in Bremerhaven – Germany’s first public-sector civil engineering project to be realized using the IPA model – demonstrates the potential of this type of construction contract: In his article, Thomas Schadow emphasizes how with due transparency and communication, quick solutions can be found to move the project forwards.

WTM Engineers has been an IPA partner in the school project since the very beginning, acting as the structural engineer. Now, 3.5 years down the line, in his specialist article Thomas Schadow highlights the “New approaches to collaboration,” and unequivocally concludes: IPA works – and offers enormous opportunities for the planning and realization of complex construction projects.
