Reyher company grounds
Expansion of the Hamburg-based company to include a logistics and office building, and Germany’s first two-level high-bay warehouse
Ever since 1959, Reyher Schrauben has been headquartered in Hamburg’s Altona district. Starting as long ago as 1990, WTM Engineers has been providing technical consultancy for the steady development of the factory area. Alongside various halls (for receiving and storing goods and for the despatch, office and sales areas), two large high-bay warehouses were raised. In 2003, a fully automated high-bay warehouse was designed and built using a silo design. And in 2017 a second fully automated high-bay warehouse was erected, consisting this time of two warehouse blocks, one above the other. This was erected directly next to the existing high-bay warehouse and is the first high-bay warehouse of its kind in Germany. At the narrow front face, an eight-storey high-rise was built, housing conveying technology and logistics in the lower storeys, while the offices are located in the upper storeys. Both new builds were connected to the neighbouring buildings with complex operational context in each case. Engineering relied on BIM methods.
